Boredom at Best Buy

Oh yes, this is how productive Best Buy employees can be…

Let me back up a bit and explain. I currently work part time at Best Buy as I look for a real job in the IT industry. Well, the other day it was dead in there, and I noticed that some of the labels had come off some of the cheap CAT 5 network cable bundles. I don’t know how many of you have worked retail, but when its slow, you have 6 hours to be there, and you notice something like that, strange things pop in your head. For instance: I think I could copy that label and make all new ones to replace the missing ones…and I bet they would look pretty good.

Soon after begining, another bored as hell Best Buy employee, Christien, decides to tell me: “I can’t believe you are doing that. That is really stupid…But I know where I can get better paper for that! Let me help you.” Seriously, if you have worked retail, you understand the powers of boredom. It can be quite strong.
