I’m not sure what features I’m missing out on, but it doesn’t seem to matter to me, since it does exactly what I want it to, etc etc..

that.s what you.re paying for…that extended interface is why they can charge a subscription fee and get people to pay it, and a crappy DVR can.t….

Yeah, thats a good point. And when I don’t have a million other things to spend money on, I’m going to have to look into that type of thing. The only problem with those is that Tivo’s interface is far superrior to any others.

Just get another DVR. My satellite service has some new satellite recievers that include a DVR and 100 hours of recording time, and we don’t have to pay extra for that feature. I’m sure you can find a DVR at BestBuy or CircuitCity that can record shows digitally without having to pay a monthly bill to use it.
