TomCruiseIsNuts.com
I actually a little surprised this didn’t come out sooner: Tom Cruise Is Nuts.com
Not much to it yet, just some quotes from crazy ‘ole Tom on different subjects.
…hmm. I guess there won’t be much on this post. I kinda saw this generating a little more for me to write. Oh, the site is looking for a flash developer, so help them out if you can.
Be sure to check the site out soon, because Tom’s lawyer is starting to stretch out, probably in that weird way you see athletes stretch where the pull their leg up and another guy lays on them, for some impending legal action.

Google Maps Pedometer
Now that the Google Maps API is out the flood of different scripts and usages for Google Maps will comming flooding in! Here is the first of many: “The Google Maps Pedometer”
A simple function, but it works great. You just click the record button and then mark with points the path that you want to track and the script calculates the distance. This is great for me because when the “gym” at my apartments is busy I just run outside and although I was pretty sure the loop I was running was a quarter of a mile (like a actual track) I wasn’t 100%. Now I am…its .267 miles to be exact.

Great Teacher Likes the Whores

The Chicago Police Department must be a fun place to work. First, they get this new camera system where you can just watch the whole city a la 1984, and now they started having even more fun by posting up names and pictures of everyone they catch participating in prostitution. Every whore, and every john…posted on the web for everyone to laugh at. Awesome.
Take the fine up standing gentleman pictured above, other wise known as one Robert Murdock. Could this guy have worn a worse shirt to get arrested for soliciting a prostitute? There has got to be something fun someone can cook up to do with these pictures.
The only problem is that the Chicago PD has yet to figure out that they should degrade some of these high-quality pictures of these fine gentelman and ladies because 76 kb per pic is a bit much if someone out there doesn’t have broadband.

The (not so) Never Ending Fall

There has been a link floating around for about a week now about a flash movie that just shows a woman mannequin falling and hitting giant floating balls on the way down. It is supposed to show what someone can do with flash these days.
Seeing it for the second time on Gadgetopia I decided it was finally worth a click. Well it turns out the fall is “never ending” for everyone but me. She fell alright, for about 2-5 seconds and then got caught in a corner created by a grouping of balls. (see above) Thud. Dead end. The mannequin falls no more.
I thought it sounded lame.

UPDATE:
Upon playing with the site further and doing less work, I found that you can pick the “girl” up and throw her somewhere else if she gets stuck. I still think this is rather silly though.
The Gizmo Project
I’ve never been much into Skype, the latest buzz-generating VOIP client that allows users to make and receive phone calls on their computers. Ok, to be honest, I’ve never used Skype. I used the recently purchased DialPad during my freshman year in college to make calls home some 5 years ago, but since then I haven’t experimented with any personal, computer based VOIP solutions. Why? Mainly because I have a cell phone and I’ve never needed to use those much.
That being said, I the Gizmo Project, brought to my attention today by Laurie at TUAW, has caught my eye. Its mainly the same thing as Skype, but I like their goal, to make VOIP as easy as: “…point, click, talk. For free.” The pictures of their Mac OS X interface seem to back that mantra up (picture after the jump). I’m not really into using the “Call Out” or “Call In” features that with small fees allow you to call out to “real” phones or have people call into your computer via “real” phones, but my interest is peaked enough to download it and set it up.
I’ll be sure to report back to see if the Gizmo Project is worth a look or if I just got suckered in by a pretty interface. Seriously, I have been known to be suckered in by a pretty interface…just look at the picture! Cool huh? And who doesn’t love maps!?
NASA’s Image of the Day

On July 4th NASA will slam a chunk of metal into a comet and see what happens. This kind of stuff is what makes NASA so freakin cool. Some scientist guy went to some Monday morning meeting and asked, “Hey: I just watched that movie Armageddon and cripes that’d be fun to blow up a comet. Anyone think we could do that?”.
NASA posts a new image every day. Some photos are looking at things really far up, others are looking down. There’s over 350 images online, most have ridiculously high-rez versions. For those of you emotionally attached to your newsfeed readers, there’s an RSS feed. Some of my favorites:
Looking at an Aurora Borealis from straight-on
The Great Ecuadorian Pimple Volcano
I couldn’t my favorite image up there, though. Textamerica Linkage.

dandobi.com has released Sign F*ucking Volume One.
It is what it sounds like. I just hope they end up putting at least 20 volumes out.
The 10 worst album covers of all time

We here at Hell Yeah Bitch! .com love weird domain names. (In case you are a dumbass and couldn’t figure that one out.) So we automatically love the site Pork Tornado without even reading a single word on the site. But then we they go and post up a list of the “10 worst album covers of all time”…well now we really love them! …but you…in like a cool, manly kind of love.
That’s right, just “Joyce”. It practically sells itself. For as much as 50 cents, judging by the price tag. Kudos to the marketing genius who came up with this layout. (I think Joyce went on to become an angry algebra teacher at my high school. She always used to bust me and my girlfriend making out behind the building.)
…
Little known fact about Joyce: She started the whole “one name” thing for singers. Madonna, Cher, Prince, Pantera…all Joyce wannabes.
I can’t say that I’ve seen every album cover out there, but I believe that there truly are the worst.

More Large Mammal Webhate
Lemme share with you, faithful hyb.com reader, a funfact about myself. I’m extremely allergic to cows. Milk, beef, ice cream, butter, anything at all that has the smallest amount of cow protein will send me to the emergency room. Imagine my joy a few years back when I entered http://ihatecows.com/ into my web browser.
Anti-cow site devoted to the elimination of all cattle on Americas Public Land
Get cows off your land !!! Cows waste money and resources and provide a inferior protein source at a very high cost. Look at the facts and make up you own mind We do not condone killing a cow and this site is NOT affiliated with anyone who would kill a cow. This site provides a resource for anyone willing to learn the truth about the live animal for food industry in the year 2003.!! COWS SUCK !!
Someone hates cows so much more than I do (and I believe I have a legitimate reason) that they made a huge (and ugly) website devoted to their hatred of the bovine plague that strangles our planet.
Death to all infidels! Death to all cows!
