Napoleon Dynamite Sucks

Yeah thats right, I said it…and it’s about time someone said it too. Why does everyone in the damn world love this movie so much? Its lame. It has very little, if any, story and I challenge anyone to give me one joke from the movie that was really, genuinely funny. You can’t.

This movie is a glaring example of the single-mindedness of people. What do I mean? I’m saying that the majority of the “fans” of this movie are laughing at it because they think they should. Its not a funny movie, but because its a “independent” flick people think that they should like this movie so they say they do. Another example of this phenomenon is the NBC show “The Office”. Although it is funnier than “Napolean Dynamite”, its still really not that funny. However, Steve Carell is in it, and we heard that cool guy that lives downtown in a loft listening to Coldplay say he likes it, then we all say we like it too.

“Dead Pan” humor can be great stuff. But I think most of America, in their effort to be hip and cool is supporting un-funny, bad entertainment. “Napoleon Dynamite” sucks. It does. If you understand that, its a big first step.

If an army of “Napoleon Dynamite” supporters come raging to its defense, then maybe they can explain what is so great about that movie…but somehow I have a feeling that their argument will boil down to “…because it is!”, which we all know really translates to “…because all the cool people think it is!”

    Okay…wait a f*ing second! I was all set to agree with you…I HATED napoleon dynamite [it would have made a decent SNL sketch...that.s about it] but did you just bash the f*ing office?! That show is the greatest thing on television [sans the west wing]…it.s almost perfect in it.s deadpan…geezus…just, just go watch it again man…you.re missing something.

    Ok, I’ll give it another shot. But the two or 2.5 episodes I saw were all about the same joke: Steve Carell does something taboo, and his underlings stare at him like he is a douche. Funny the first time, maybe even the fifth…but on 10th, 20th time, it tends to lose it’s charm.

    However, since baseball season will be coming to an end soon, I’m willing to give it another chance come November and my TV options open up.

    Honestly Napoleon Dynamite sucks balls it pisses me off that everyone practically worships it, I turned it on and was watching it half-way and I was so pissed off after watching it, I wasted 30 minutes of my life in hopes of a good movie and turned out wasting 30 minutes of my life I could of spend doing something better the one and only thing I liked was the “mexican gangsters” that came out of nowhere thats about it idk why I just thought that was like the high point of the movie :S anyways fuck Napoleon Dynamite it sucks and that whole “your mom goes to college” shit makes no sense anyone who says that needs to get their dicks peeled off and say it again and try to laugh at it if its so fucking funny. Peace.

    Omg I know. I rented it expected something really great and Ive never been so disappointed with a movie. I could come up with crap better than that. I guess all I have to do is jumble 30 different plotlines and a few bad jokes together and I'll have made a hilarious movie.

    I agree with you 100%… I hate how stupid and “me too” people can be when it comes to pretty much every piece of media. People are championing in mediocrity without even knowing it. The US Office is terrible compared to the UK original, which was brilliant, intelligent, and charming. I'm so fed up with the low standard of intelligence and humor in America.

    I completely fucking agree. This movie is horrendously awful. I hadn’t been this dissapointed over movie since superbad and paranormal activity.
