Web Advertising and Hell Yeah Bitch! .com

What does it take for a guy to get a graphical advertisement on his website? When I changed the look of this page a month or two ago, I changed the “Ad Section” of the front page to be a little bigger to accommodate a graphical advertisement. I just thought it would give the front page a bit more of a “front page” feel, like that of a magazine or newspaper. However after modifying the space and changing my adsense settings I still have not seen any graphical ads appear in that slot. What gives?

Even if I get the graphical advertising of my dreams, I still don’t think it would help me reach my goal for revenues on this site. What I’m looking for is to simply break even, sadly we aren’t quite there yet. I’m looking into even upgrading the hosting package that would allow for more space and more bandwidth per month, which will raise the goal a little higher. I’ve been thinking about branching out to other ad-networks…Yahoo! has one coming down the pipe, and I think so does Microsoft. BlogAds would be cool but now you have to be sponsored by a current member to even get in the door. However, I have my doubts that another set or a switch of ad providers will do much good anyway.

Even though this site has grown in popularity many times over in the past year, its still not to the level I would like it to be. We still need more content. I have asked a few people to step in with some features or How To’s, but nothing has materialized as of yet, leaving Hell Yeah Bitch! .com in the cringe-educing “blog sector.” Its especially though currently to get people to contribute content because anyone can just go get a Blogger account and post it on their own…but people are forgetting that publishing here allows you to be under the deliciously vulgar umbrella of the Hell Yeah Bitch! .com name.

Please don’t think this is a post to drum up clicks on the ads. Thats not the case at all. I just wanted to bitch about me not getting any graphical ads and this somehow mutated into another “call to arms content” post. If you are still reading this post, sorry about my tangent.
