We are brothers in our battle against WP Justin! I've posted several times to their boards with no reply as well.

I got the comments to work last night but then it wasn't showing the latest post on the front WP, it was showing the 2nd latest. After that I said screw it and I'm staying with MT.

Found your site looking for means of importing MT comments to WordPress. It is a bitch that their system is flawed. As you can guess I'm getting the same problems as you. I've posted the question twice on the WordPress support forums but they seem to be even worse then the Movable Type support forums. And I agree with you, while the WordPress engine is all the rage right now there just seems to be to too much crap involved with moving to it that makes the whole process not worth the pain. Oh well. Good luck with your rewriting of the code and the search to cut back on MT's rebuild time.
