Hell Yeah Bitch! .com Adds Link Posts
For a long time now I’ve been searching for a way to tell everyone about little links that I find on the site. The problem is these links usually don’t need much commentary, which makes for a really boring full blown post…so I never did them. However after reading a great post over on Gadgetopia this morning about blogging methods I decided to go for it and throw together an homage to Jason Kottke’s idea of “Remaindered Links“. Of course, by homage, I mean totally rip off.
How did I do it?
I created another blog in my MovableType installation for the link posts. Then, since I already use a small PHP display engine I wrote to display the front page (no rebuilding that way), I just expanded that engine to give it the ability to show posts from one or both blogs. Its not 100% done, but they do show on the main page now and they all have permalinks. Hopefully this will mean more content on here in 2007 and longer.
