Come See Mike at the St Louis Interactive Festival

September 8th, 2008 | by Mike |

Despite recent events (or maybe because of them?) I will be sitting on the panel: “Blogging and Social Media 101” at Inter:Play 2008, the Interactive Festival happening concurrently in the Delmar Loop on the weekend of the 20th.

Blogging and Social Media 101 – Saturday 9/20 @ 11am
An introduction to the world of blogging and social media. What is social media? What is Web 2.0? Learn that and more from those who were there when it all began. Featuring Ben Vierck, Tanner Hobin, and Mike Flynn; moderated by Todd Jordan.

Should be a good time and there are all kinds of reasons to head out there:

  1. Its good to support this kind of cool stuff happening in STL!
  2. You know were I’ll be in real life if you want to take a poke at me.
  3. Lots of cool bands and some interesting panels, especially if you are trying to learn more about new media or if you are a budding blogger!

I still wish there were more in depth talks for us harder-core geeks (though I’m hoping to maybe start a some hard-core geek-talks impromptu style right there if anyone has a topic!), this is a very cool idea and I’m glad its happening (both on the music and interactive side).  If you live anywhere near STL, you should really come check this out and the Bloggers Guild (they are the ones putting on the interactive side) should be commended for the idea and implementation!

What I’m trying to say is that if you are just coming to see my sexy-ass self, thats cool, but if people ask, say you are jazzed about the whole thing.
