Today’s Hella Lame: SatanHatesLife.com

satanhateslife.com Thats the website some church put up in conjunction with a bunch of billboards down in the Texas area.

I see the point they are trying to make, but this is funny as hell (no pun intended..well maybe just a little pun intended) for all the wrong reasons. This is a classic example of a church trying to come up with some “edgy” advertising and it just comes out hella lame. The only ad campaign that a church ever did that was the awesome was that kick ass and mysterious Footprints posters. I mean why was there only one set of footprints? …oh because Jesus was carrying me! Wow. That is truly deep and awesome. Who needs sex, drugs, cussing, and non public broadcast TV when you have amazing things like that to think about all day!
Face it, church advertising, particularly viral advertising, is hella lame.
Leah Culver is a Blonde Genius
Lean Culver of the surprisingly named leahculver.com, came up with a cream dream supreme of an idea. She had those zany, heavily laden with venture capitalist cash Web 2.0 companies sponsor her bid for a new laptop. At $150 a square inch, she sold roughly 40 ads and got her new laptop for free. After it was all said and done…and engraved…it looked like this.
My first thought: How can I get a sweet piece of this action? Could I make a St. Louis version? Would people actually by into this? Do you have to be a cute blond to get this idea off the ground?
Will these questions be answered? Be sure to keep checking Hell Yeah Bitch! .com for the thrilling conclusion where we find out the answers to those questions, in order, are: “Do your own.”, “Yes.”, “Probably not.”, and “It wouldn’t hurt.”
So who wants to by an add?
Here’s the video of the process.
Here’s more general info on engraving a laptop.
Japanese Advertising Is Weird

Star Wars has been involved in some weird advertising, but the latest advertising in Japan is some of the best. It involves Darth Vader hanging with school girls and Yoda stealing a guy’s girl (pictured above). Yoda is my personal favorite, but you can see the others at the blog of the guy that found these: Abroad In Japan
