Semi Precious Weapons Rocked My Ass Something Fierce
Last night I went out to the iChannel.fm and PlaybackSTL show at The Pageant featuring a list of independent bands. I’ll be honest with you and say that the all of the opening bands ranged from shit to generic. The headliner however was a band I had heard a lot of buzz about as of late but had never really checked out and definitely never seen live. They were the Semi Precious Weapons, and after that concert, I’m sold. Absolutely amazing! The Semi Precious Weapons have all the makings of a legendary band: Crazy-Awesome lead singer? Check. Shirtless wacky bass guitarist? Check. Skilled lead guitarist? Check. A drummer that goes wild back there? Check. Kate Moss likes them (see photo above) ? Check!!

Fabchannel.com Kicked My Ass Hard…and I Liked It.
I just discovered the site MFabchannel.com. Amazing. Great implementation of its one goal: Show whole, yes whole rock concerts for free.
You can scrub through each concert because they are broken in to video “tracks” for you. You can add “tracks” of each concert to your playlist. Oh yeah…you can share the concerts too, youTube-style. Here is Motion City Soundtrack:

Its Kristen Bell again this week. I know, I kinda have a thing for her. Although technically,I think I really have a thing for the character Veronica Mars. I doubt that Kristen Bell has the sharp wit in real life without the writing team, and yes I know she’s just as hot in real life, but the snarkiness is a factor in her attractiveness. She’s cute regardless, but the wit takes her to the next level.
I don’t want to sound creepy, but this is the kind of woman that kick ass rock songs should be about. If you were wondering, I already wrote one. It would start out all slow with this little bit of cymbals. Then you would hear this kick ass baseline come in all quiet. Oh and there’d be smoke all around and the stage is all black. Then both the cymbals and the bass would get louder and louder until…BAM…the lights come up and I’m standing on a giant demon’s head holding a guitar. Thats when my solo kicks off and I’m all like: whaaaa…wiggity wiggity whaaa. bum whaaa. Wiggity whaaa. Bam bam do deee whaaa. Wheee whaaa! It goes on like that for 8 minutes and 43 seconds, but the whole time there are like thousands of panties and bras being flung at my face, but I’m totally focused on her the entire time execpt for the second I’m wondering how these chicks have the arm strength to throw their undies all the way to the top of this giant demon’s head, but other than that, I’m totally focused on her. The best part is she’s all in the front row not even rocking out. She’s just clapping a little bit but staring right back at me.
I call that song “Lets Make Love (Nah, Lets Just Do It. Lets Not Get In To That Love Stuff Right Now and Ruin The Moment. Do Have Any Chick Friends That Want To Get In On This By The Way?)”
